Description
This reservation-only private studio is located in Nishi-Ikebukuro in Tokyo. You need to make an appointment to visit.
The resident artist, Bunshin Horitoshi, is a rare kind of tattoo artist who practices the traditional Japanese method of “all hand-poke tattooing” where every step from outlining, shading, and coloring is done by hand.
He has worked in various countries around the world and is well- renowned for his skill. The tattoos he applies by hand do not fade with time, and they even take on a deeper texture after some time.
He can do a variety of styles, from large Japanese tattoo, cover-ups, and small souvenir tattoos with a Japanese motif.
Upon request, Bunshin Horitoshi can also do the outlining with a machine. Just inform him of your preference during the design consultation.
Since the artist may not be able to answer the phone while he is doing tattooing work, questions and reservations should be sent using the inquiry form on the official website.
He can also respond to inquiries in English. The studio’s facilities and environment is similar with other studios that make use of machines, and proper hygiene management is practiced.
